The Trial and Death of Jesus
Sophie and Mark
In Jesus Christ on the Cross, there is refuge; there is safety; there is shelter; and all the power of sin upon our track cannot reach us when we have taken shelter under the Cross that atones for our sins.
-A. C. Dixon
Christ paid a debt He didn’t owe to satisfy a debt we couldn’t pay. -tumblr
Jesus didn’t die to save me from God. Jesus died to save me from myself.
-Ricky Maye, Barefoot Christianity
Is it not wonderful news to believe that salvation lies outside ourselves?
-Martin Luther
It was Christ who willingly went to the cross, and it was our sins that took him there.

“Forever He’ll Stay” By: Mark
It doesn’t matter who you are
It doesn’t matter where you’ve been
Jesus carried your pain
Jesus buried your sin
Sinner come to the cross
And lay your burdens down
Sinner let loose your loss
Go grab your golden crown
Forgiveness is free
Transgressions debt paid
No death for you and me
Jesus own life He laid
With God there is a plan
There’s always a way
He will never leave you
Forever He’ll stay
The Cross is the eternal expression of the length to which God will go to in order to restore broken community
-Martin Luther King. Jr.

I found this page online and I think the material described here is very important because we, as christians seem to forget how painful and awful the death of Jesus really was and how much he really endured in order for us to have eternal life. A good read that will bring lots of emotions. Have a kleenex box on handy! -Sophie
Perfect Death By: Mark Nival
Sent to Earth
He came to die
Only truth
He told no lie
Among the bad
He forgave their crime
Among the poor
He had spent his time
Though he was perfect
They did not see
They sent him to die
On calvary
Jesus Crucified: A Provision for His Mother
A beautiful insight into what Mary might have been thinking and feeling as her precious son and Lord was crucified on the cross.
He loved us not because we were lovable, but because He is love
-C.S. Lewis
Our tendency in the midst of suffering is to turn on God. To get angry and bitter and shake our fist at the sky and say, “God, you don’t know what it’s like! You don’t understand! You have no idea what I’m going through. You don’t have a clue how much this hurts.”
The cross is God’s way of taking away all of our accusations, excuses, and arguments.
The cross is God taking on flesh and blood and saying, “Me too.
-Rob Bell
